Many different types of institutions can be involved in integrated water resources management. This ranges from very large, trans-boundary or international entities to local and regional governments, to small civil society groups and community organisations. Water resource challenges are multi-faceted which requires cross-sectoral integration and new institutional structures. Hence, communication has to take place not only within the water sector but between the water sector and other sectors like agriculture, industry, health, services, etc. as well. ECORYS has experience in institutional capacity building at the local, national and international level. We increase awareness of and insight in IWRM and strengthen the competences and skills of professionals through hands on training sessions and workshops using the sector wide approach or SWAP. |
