Ecorys report on competitiveness of EU market & industry for pharmaceuticals published by EC PDF Print E-mail

29 September 2010 - Ecorys has examined the functioning of the European pharmaceutical markets for the EU (DG Enterprise and Industry). The final reports were published on the EU website this week.

In 2009 DG Enterprise and Industry commissioned ECORYS to conduct a study examining the functioning of the pharmaceutical market in the framework of the Commission's market monitoring efforts. The resulting Ecorys-report 'Study on the competitiveness of the EU market and industry for pharmaceuticals' complements the Pharmaceutical Sector Inquiry (by DG Competition), looking at the impact of regulatory systems on the EU pharmaceutical market, with a particular focus on the implications of pricing and reimbursement regulation. The study has been an important element in the preparation of a new policy process on healthcare and pharmaceuticals, which was announced by Commission Vice-President Antonio Tajani on September 27th.

The report (comprising two documents) can be downloaded from the EC website.
