At the national level, an institutional framework was set up to enhance the use of modeling techniques in Estonia. At the regional level, a pilot basin was chosen where a River Basin Management Plan has been made. In the pilot, special attention was put at modeling the pressures and impacts from both point and non point sources (especially nutrients). Training was provided to increase Estonia’s capacity in fulfilling the requirements of the WFD.

ECORYS was fully responsible for the institutional arrangements that were related to model application and data management regarding the implementation of the WFD (including training, workshop facilitation).
