In the framework of the New Skills for New Jobs Initiative the European Commission has launched the “European Vacancy Monitor” project in March 2010, which is awarded to the ICON/ECORYS consortium and will have a duration of two years.

The aim of the project is to improve the generation of, and access to comparable labour market information of the 27 EU Member States and EEA countries in order to provide timely information on European labour market developments (recruitment trends, skills requirements) for labour market practitioners and policy makers.

The research focuses on the analysis of job vacancies (intake, outflow, stock, skills characteristics, job market mismatches, occupational bottlenecks, market position of different recruitment channels, etc.).
