This project covers the design works, the economic and financial feasibility, as well as environmental impacts assessments of a series of port improvement projects in Malta such as: quay rehabilitation or extensions, port expansions. These projects were prepared for a mix of European and private funding. The project entails analyzing the projects as both stand alone projects and as integral part of a masterplan - including a land use plan.
Services provided by ECORYS were:

• Project management;
• Cargo trade and traffic forecast for Maltese port sector;
• Container trade and traffic forecast including transshipment analysis for Malta and the Mediterranean;
• Feasibility study;
• Funding proposals.
