Key objective of the Study is to analyse and assess the diffusion and impact of ICT at the firm level in relation to productivity, competitiveness and innovation in selected key sectors (traditional sectors like resource industries, agriculture & food industry and manufacturing, and new sectors like electronic media, publishing, business process outsourcing and niche production. The focus of the study will be on the most predominant centres/ clusters of economic activity in the respective countries. The study will ask 2 main sources of information for the analyses: a) quick scan and assessment of existing studies, benchmark studies and country reports and surveys in innovation and ICT development; b) an electronic business survey in which productivity and performance impacts of ICT in firms will be measured and related to their specific product and / or service groups and markets.
