The INTRO project (in the context of FP6) aims to build up social infrastructure that promotes regional innovation. The method used will be to transfer the innovative spirit and processes from Iceland and South East Ireland where rural and regional innovation has been systematically promoted, to Poland’s region of West-Pomerania and to Latvia. The main task of the INTRO project is to build up the social infrastructure that promotes regional innovation in the new member countries (NAC), specifically the regions in Poland and Latvia by transferring best practice form Iceland and Ireland and developing support processes and initiatives throughout the project. IDEA Consult (an ECORYS company) is providing the lead expert for the work in West-Pomerania with the responsibility for support and guidance of the local experts in developing a monitoring system and a foresight exercise.
