The European Commission is obliged to periodically inform the Council and the European Parliament on the application of the European Postal Directive. To this aim, ECORYS conducted a study to identify the main developments in the field of regulation, market volumes, competition, employment, technology and customer needs in the period 2006-2008. The results of this study formed an important input for the application report of the European Commission.
