For the 2007-2013 period, rural development in the EU is structured along three axes: a more competitive agricultural sector, land use management and wider rural development. The bottom-up approach through the Leader initiative is the fourth axis. ECORYS provides expertise and support on all these topics, covering all the stages of the program-cycle like programming, indicator development, project selection, monitoring and evaluation. ECORYS was involved in several major projects regarding rural development in most of the EU-25 and the candidate countries. For more information, please contact: Atze Verkennis |

The EU-enlargement and the shift in EU-policy favouring the second pillar of the CAP increases the attention for the development of rural areas throughout the EU. ECORYS is very much involved in this development.
